Indonesia has two different climatic zones.
Temperatures reach 31° in the coastal plains all year round (they lose one degree every ninety meters in the mountains). Rainfall is abundant (1 500 to 3 000 mm per year in the coastal plains, 3 000 to 6 000 mm per year in the mountains). Humidity oscillates between 70 and 90% during the year.
 The northern islands (Borneo and Sumatra)
The islands located in the north of Indonesia have an equatorial climate. Temperatures are constant throughout the year (31°) and rainfall is high (2 000 to 3 000 mm per year in the coastal plains, more in the mountains).
The southern islands (Java and Bali)
The islands located in the south of Indonesia have a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season. Rainfall ranges between 1 500 and 2 000 mm per year.
Rainy season (November to April)
Temperatures are constant (31° during the daytime, 23° at night) and rainfall is abundant. Sunshine is low (four to five hours a day).
Dry season (May to October)
Temperatures are stable (30-31°) and rainfall is low. Sunshine is high (eight to nine hours per day).
