Kenya has three different climatic zones.
Temperatures are high in the east (30 to 35° all year round) and temperate in the mountains (25 to 27° from January to December). The annual rains are is low in the northeast (250 mm), moderate in the southeast (500 to 1 200 mm) and abundant in the mountains (1 000 to 2 000 mm). They vary greatly from one year to another. Sunshine is high and humidity is moderate except on the coast.
 Southeastern Kenya
The coast located in the southeast has a hot and humid equatorial climate with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. Humidity is consistently high and the sun shine seven to eight hours a day all year round.
First rainy season (April to May) and second rainy season (October to November)
Temperatures are stable (30°) and rainfall is high.
First dry season (December to March) and second dry season (June to September)
Temperatures are high (30° in July and 34° in February) and rainfall is moderate.
Northeastern Kenya
The northeast has a very dry equatorial climate with two very short rainy seasons and two long dry seasons. Humidity is low and sunshine is very high.
First rainy season (March, April) and second rainy season (November)
Temperatures range from 23° at night to 36° during the daytime (they sometimes reach 40°). Rainfall is low (250 to 500 mm).
First dry season (May to October) and second dry season (December to February)
Temperatures range from 33° to 38°. Rainfall is nonexistent or very low in some months.
Central and western Kenya
The mountains and the plateaus located in the west and in the center have a temperate equatorial climate with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. Humidity is low.
First rainy season (April to May) and second rainy season (November to December)
Temperatures reach 25° during the day but they are often cool at night (12°). Rainfall is high (200 mm per month in April and May, 140 mm per month in November and December).
First dry season (June to October) and second dry season (January to March)
Temperatures range between 22° in July and 25° in January (they drop to 10° at night). Rainfall is very low each month.
